The translation of laboratory discovery to clinical application is facilitated by multidisciplinary Disease Oriented Working Groups (DOWGs). Each DOWG has a designated leader. Members include UWCCC research program participants, staff and other UW faculty.

The DOWGs review their respective clinical trials activity, provide ongoing planning for new investigator-initiated trials and decide on trial priorities. Proposed trials must have the support of DOWG members prior to review by the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee.

The DOWGs meet regularly and interested laboratory research faculty are encouraged to attend. The interactions between laboratory and clinical investigators provide the bridge from discovery to new clinical treatments.

Contact the DOWG leader or program manager for more information.
