The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center is committed to leading-edge research to provide better treatment and ultimately, cures for cancer.

In addition, the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, an integral part of the UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) , is dedicated to cancer research and conducts some of the most innovative research in this field.

UWCCC members total more than 280 faculty from 56 departments and 9 schools and participate in and have access to Research Programs, Disease Oriented Working Groups, and Shared Services.

Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research East Tower

WiMRAs of September 2008, cancer researchers from across the UW-Madison campus have started to move into the first tower of the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR), formerly the Interdisiplinary Research Complex or IRC.

The seven-story structure, one of three that will eventually comprise the WIMR complex, will house UW Carbone Cancer Center laboratory space dedicated to breast, prostate, lung and other types of cancer research.
