Course Content
The Palliative Care Course is designed to educate experienced
nurses in the art and science of caring for dying patients and their
families. The course identifies the unique role of collaborating
with the palliative care team while partnering with the patient
and family throughout the dying process.
Topics
- Ethical & Legal Issues in palliative care
- Spiritual assessment throughout the life span
- Pain management
- Comfort care in the final days
Audience
This two-day course is for experienced adult and pediatric nurses.
Continuing Education Credit
14.50 contact hours will be awarded for this program.
University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison, Wisconsin, is an approved
provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association
Continuing Education Approval Program Committee, an accredited approver by the
