Course Content

The purpose of this course is to broaden nurses’ understanding of the interrelationships between chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The Advanced Oncology and Radiation Therapy Course is designed for nurses with more than three years of experience in caring for oncology patients as well as experience or interest in radiation therapy.

Expert nurses will focus on advances in adult oncology and pediatric nursing care. In addition, interdisciplinary team members will underscore state-of-the-art radiation practices. Implications for evidence-based practice, including case studies, will be discussed.

Audience

This one-day course is designed for experienced adult and pediatric nurses.

Continuing Education Credit

7.25 contact hours will be awarded for this program.

University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison, Wisconsin, is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Program Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
