* Nurses administering chemotherapy to adult and pediatric patients attend the first three days. Nurses administering chemotherapy to pediatric patients attend an optional fourth day, which reviews pediatric cancers.

Course Content

This course is based on most current versions of a number of publications and guidelines available from the Oncology Nursing Society:

  • Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Guidelines and Recommendations for Practice

Audience

The Chemotherapy Administration Course is designed for registered nurses who will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and monitoring patient response following chemotherapy administration in their clinical setting. This course is both for adult and pediatric oncology nurses.

Continuing Education Credit

22.47 contact hours will be awarded for the three-day program.

29.47 contact hours will be awarded for the four-day program in October 2008.

University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison, Wisconsin, is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Program Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Fee

$300 for first three days (chemotherapy administration and symptom management for adult and pediatric nurses)

$375 for entire four days (the fourth day reviews pediatric cancer diagnoses)
