November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month
Lung cancer kills more
Americans each year than breast, colon, and prostate cancer
combined.
If you or a friend or loved one has lung cancer, come
and learn about this disease – what it is, why it is so difficult to treat, and
what progress is being made locally and throughout the nation.
Please
join us on Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday,
November 5 (9 am – 3 pm both days) for the Lung Cancer Awareness
Health Fair and on Thursday, November 20 for "Putting
the Puzzle Pieces Together: The Latest in Lung Cancer Research".
The Health Fair will feature information on:
- Nutrition
- Integrative
medicine
- Center
for Tobacco Research and Intervention
- Center for Patient
Partnerships and other patient advocacy and caregiver resources
- Social
Work Services, including the Lung Cancer Support Group
- Clinical
trials and current research
- Managing side effects from
chemotherapy and radiation
A raffle for unique items will be held
both days in the Cancer Center atrium with proceeds benefiting
the UW Lung Cancer Research Program.
