

The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is the only comprehensive cancer center
in Wisconsin, as designated by the National Cancer Institute,
the lead federal agency for cancer research.
In 2007, UWCCC
- managed 90,600 outpatient clinic and radiation
therapy visits,
- cared for 2,995 inpatient admissions, and
- treated 18,030 unique patients, and
- accrued 2,838 patients in carefully monitored intervention and non-intervention clinical trials.
In 2008, UWCCC
- saw 4,244 new cancer patients with the following diagnoses:

COG is a National Cancer Institute-supported clinical trials cooperative group
devoted to childhood cancer research. The UWCCC extends the ability to participate
in COG clinical trials to:

Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group
(ECOG)
ECOG, through National Cancer Institute funding, conducts nationwide clinical
trials in all types of cancer. The UWCCC extends the ability to participate
in ECOG to:

Radiation Therapy Oncology Group(RTOG)
RTOG is one of the National Cancer Institute’s funded cooperative
cancer research groups devoted solely to radiation therapy research. The
UWCCC extends the ability to participate in RTOG clinical trials to:
